Dav Colleges’coordination Committee meeting scheduled on Sunday
Amritsar. Feb 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Strike cum protest Dharna in the DAV Colleges entered into fifth day DAV
Colleges against Managing Committee (DAVCMC). Campus Dharna for two periods was organized as per the call of PCCTU and DAV Colleges Coordination Committee today. All the DAV institutes viz. BBK DAV College for women and DAV College of Education, Amritsar observed strike cum Dharna on 5th and 6th Period and raised Anti-management slogans for adamant behaviour regarding teachers’ demands.
Unit Secretary Dr. Munish Gupta briefed the gathering about the present status of teachers’ demands for CAS Promotions, Pending Arrears and others issues. He said that it is the basic right of every employee to get promotion under CAS when he or she is fulfilling the requisite standards. Addressing the teachers, Dr. G.S. Sekhon President showed a serious concern about indifferent attitude of management even towards the basic demands of teachers. He urged the teachers to be united and ready for the final phase off with management as well as government for their genuine issues.District President, Dr. B.B. Yadav said that the condition is very much alarming as anti-employee stance of management as well as state and central government is forcing teachers to sit on strikes even for basic demands. He announced that a total cease work will be observed on 4th February and a crucial meeting of DAV Colleges’ Coordination Committee is being scheduled on Sunday, 2nd February to chalk out next programme.
In the Event, Dr. Malkeet Singh Virk, Dr. J.J Mohindroo, Dr. Vikas Bhardwaj, Dr. Rajni Khanna, Dr. Daizy Sharma, Dr. Anita Mahajan, Prof. Ashu Vij, Prof. G.S. Sidhu, Prof. Rajesh Mittu, Prof. RK Jha, Prof. RK Nayyar also interacted with the audience.
