Vallah has reimplanted right foot of a 17 years old Prabhdeep Singh. A 17 years old Prabhdeep Singh s/o Kuldeep Singh resident of Fatehgarh Churian was brought to emergency of SGRD Hospital Vallah with H/O injury while working in fields when due to falling of trolley over his right foot is little toe & part of right foot was amputated(separated from the body).
The patient along with separated part of the foot which was kept in plastic bag was brought within one hour of injury at 9:30 am. Patient was immediately shifted to OT and under the team of Dr. Vikas Kakkar Plastic & Microvascular Surgeon patient was operated for approximately 4 hours and successful reimplantation of the foot was done. The surgical team included Dr. Rana Ranjit Singh, Dr. Gurlal Singh, Dr. Karanvir Singh, Dr. Anurag Salwan, Dr. Anmol Singh Randhawa and Dr. Harpreet Multani accompanied by the Anesthesia team under supervision of Dr. Ruchi Gupta, Dr. Anita Kumari, Dr. Chiteshwarwalia, Dr. Tavleen, Dr. Ishpuneet and Dr. Avneet. The nursing staff assisted in the surgery was Sis Maninder Kaur, Satvinderjit Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur OTA Amritpal Singh.
Dr. Kakkar said that the time is most important factor for making any reimplantation surgery of a properly preserved part of the body. It was a technically very complex and challenging surgery, which was successfully done by our doctors. It was evaluated at the end of the surgery that the foot is viable and warm with good blood circulation. We pray to God for his fast recovery, said Dr. AP Singh.
