Six day Workshop on ‘writing for Media’ starts at BBK DAV College for Women

Amritsar, Oct. 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A six day workshop on ‘writing for Media’ has been organized by the department of Journalism & Mass Communication at BBK DAV College for Women, from Oct 13-18, 2014. This workshop aims to acquaint the students with practical field experience and widen their understanding about the subject of media. The workshop involves lectures by eminent media personalities who will guide the students and enhance their understanding about working in media industry. On first day the students were given training on how to write for print media. Second day, observed Gurseemana Preet Kaur, Chief Executive officer Missiondeep Education Trust as the resource person. She interacted with the students and honed their communication skills. She gave hands on training to students about English phonetics and personality development. Apart from this, she acquainted students about the mission of ‘Missiondeep’ for providing education to underprivileged children and also inspired the students to be a little part of it. Appreciating the efforts of the department, Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra said, “Such workshops are essential for students as they aim to go beyond classroom teaching and provide practical learning to them” Head or department Mrs. Priyanka Bassi and faulty members of the department were also present during the occasion.
