An “International E-lecture on History” organized at DAV College

Amritsar, July 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – PG Department of History/ Travel and Tourism, DAV College Amritsar organized an “International E-lecture on History” under UGC sponsored Gandhian Study Centre. More than 800 people registered themselves in the event. Prof. Raj Mohan Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi was the guest speaker of the lecture. Prof. Gandhi is a renowned biographer, author and a Research Professor and has several books to his credit. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar formally welcomed the guest speaker. Prof. Shilpi Seth, Head of the PG Department of History/ Travel and Tourism introduced the guest speaker and welcomed all the participants from India and abroad in the event.

                     Prof. Raj Mohan Gandhi, the guest speaker of the day, started the talk by introducing the topic of his talk “Hamari badalti duniya:Amreeka mein rehte Hindustani ki nazar mein”. He talked about the need of keeping humanism above all in the context of Covid-19. He also said that Indians have always been very helpful and this is the strength of Indians. He urged youth to take up the responsibility of maintaining peace and establishing a society without discrimination. He also beautifully described the flaws and strengths of Indians living in America.

                   Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar marked the meet as a historical event for DAV College and also appreciated the hardwork and dedication of the Department of History. Prof. Munish Singh was the Organizing Secretaryof the event. All the office bearers, Vice Principal Dr. Darshandeep Arora, Administrator Meenu Aggarwal, Registrar GS Sidhu, Bursar Parveen Kumari and Staff Secretary Rajeev Arora were also present at the meet. E-certificates were given to all the participants.
