‘Writing for Media – A Six Day Workshop organized at BBK DAV College for Women’

Amritsar, Oct. 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The department of Journalism and Mass Communication of BBK DAV College for Women, organized a six day workshop on ‘Writing for Media’. The Workshop involved lectures by eminent media personalities who guided the students and enhanced their understanding about working in media industry. On Day 1 of the workshop students learnt the art of writing for print media Day 2 included lesson on developing basic writing skills and improving communication skills. Day 3 in activities related to writing for various radio formats. On the 4th day students were familiarized with the art of working for AD and PR industry. The 5th day emphanised on the development of skill for writing for online media. On 6th day the workshop students learnt how to write for T.V and online media. Some of the prominent names fo media industry who conducted the workshop are Mr. Navdeep Singh, programmed Head AIRFM Gold, Ludhiana, Mr. Aneesh  Bhanot, CEO Shaan PR, Mr. Daljit Ami Director Communication Punjab Digital Library, Chandigarh and Ms. Gurseema, CEO Mission Deep Education Trust. Appreciating the efforts of the department, Principal of the College Dr (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra said, ‘such workshops were essential for students as they aimed to go beyond classroom learning and facilitate skills development among students’’. HOD Mrs. Priyanka Bassi emphasized the need for such workshops and said, ‘The workshop aimed at acquainting the students with practical field experience and widened their understanding about the subject.
