Amritsar, October 16, (Punjab Post Bureau) – CKD Institute of Management & Technology (CKDIMT) organized a seminar on topical theme, “Retail– a Career Destination” in its campus on Thursday for its students of all streams. An industrial expert, Mr. Manpreet Dhoddy, Area Manager (North Punjab) of renowned multinational company Tommy Hilfiger was the resource person. He was formally welcomed and felicitated by Member-in-Charge, Dr. Baljinder Singh; Principal, Dr. H.S. Sandhu and Head placements, Mr. Paramjit Singh Makkar of CKDIMT. Mr. Dhoddy discussed upon the trends and opportunities in retail sector. After an initial introduction about the prestigious international brand Tommy Hilfiger, he gave an insight about the global and Indian retail scenario. He also deliberated on the future of modern retail in India. Finally, Mr. Dhoddy aptly captured the audience by focusing the career opportunities prevalent in this industry. He also assured to provide more placements offers from Tommy Hilfiger for CKD students in near future during Campus placements.. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. H.S. Sandhu said, “Mr. Dhoddy spoke very elegantly and elaborated on various career paths available in this sector. Most importantly, he discussed the necessary skill-set required to enter and succeed in this lucrative field of retailing.” Dr. Baljinder Singh while expressing gratitude to Mr. Dhoddy said, “The students gained a lot of valuable information in all major aspects of Retail industry especially in the contest of career, growth and challenges and ways to build a successful career in this sector.” President, CKDIMT, S. Charanjit Singh Chadha; Honorary Secretary, S. Narinder Singh Khurana, and Director Education, Dr. Dharmveer Singh appreciated the eventful seminar.
