Amritsar, November 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – With a view to share expertise in the field of technical education, Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology (KCET) today signed an MOU with Dr. BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (BR-NIT), Jalandhar. The MOU was signed by the Directors of both the institutes including, Dr. Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director, BR-NIT and Dr. Manju Bala, Director, KCET.
Dr. A Mukhopadhyay Dean Academics, Dr. R.K Garg Dean, Faculty Welfare Dr. S.K Sinha Dean Research, Dr. S.K Mishra Registrar BR-NIT and Dr. Mohinder Sangita Dean Academics, Er. Bikramjit Singh Registrar KCET were present during the signing of the MoU which aims to generate support and co-operation between two institutions, said Dr. Bala.
She said the faculties will exchange scientific and Technical information, postgraduate thesis, research activities, seminars, workshops, conferences and training programs. Dr. Lalit Kumar Awasthi said that NIT will fully cooperate and put in the best effort to guide the students of KCET. “Our institute will completely support faculty, staff and students of College for skill enhancement which will benefit them for academic up-liftment”, said Dr. Awasthi.
Dr. Bala added that this is the matter of pride and joy that College is moving on the path to achieve highest academic excellence. She informed that this MOU is for the period of 5 Years and under this association students of the college will get chance to interact with brilliant minds of such an elite institute which will increase their innovative thinking capacity, ability for team work, boost their confidence and most importantly will widen their academic horizon.
Earlier this year, in the College had signed MoU with IIT Bombay and consequently the College is now a part of Spoken Tutorial program of IIT Bombay which is run through ICT, MHRD, Govt. of India. More than 120 students have completed various Swayam-NPTEL and MOOC Courses and this association will further motivate more and more students for such kind of various certified MOOC courses. Around 28 students recently secured top merit positions in IKG PTU and out of them seven students secured 1st position in various semesters and branches.
Dr. Bala added that many students have secured jobs in top notch companies like BYJUS, Q-Spider, Enest Technologies, etc. during the period of lockdown at handsome packages. She said that such kind of academic exchange programs and associations will further increase the academic results of the college as well as job opportunities for the students.
