Campaign to vaccinate ‘Front Line Workers’ from Today

Revenue, security forces, police personnel will be covered in second phase

Kapurthala, February 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The second phase of covid vaccination in Kapurthala district would start from February 4 under which nearly 6000 ‘front line workers’ would be covered.

               Deputy Commissioner Mrs Deepti Uppal today reviewed the preparations during the meeting of District Task Force in the district administration complex.

                She said that as per the directions of Punjab Government, the district administration would cover the front line workers in the second phase which mainly included Revenue, Punjab Police, Jails, Central Security Force staff to play a leading role in the long time fight against Corona.

              It is to be mentioned here that in the first phase which started on January 16, personnel of the Health Department were vaccinated successfully.

             Deputy Commissioner also said that at the beginning of the second phase, the vaccine would be started at Civil Hospital Kapurthala besides Sultanpur Lodhi, Phagwara, Bhulath sub-division hospitals.

               She further added that the database of all conncerned departments have already been prepared and registration on covid portal was made. She asked the officials of the Rural Development Department to provide the data on human resources by February 6 so that the registration work could be completed.

              Calling upon the front line workers to come forward for vaccination , she informed that under the first phase the vaccinated officers and employees have not faced any side effect , so that the front line workers can get vaccinated without any hesitation.

             The Deputy Commissioner also directed all the SDMs to personally monitor the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the second phase of vaccination as well.

                       On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Phagwara Mr Rajiv Verma, SDM Sultanpur Lodhi Dr Charumita, SDM Bhullath Balveer Raj attended the meeting via video conference. Apart from this SDM Kapurthala Virender Pal Singh Bajwa, Civil Surgeon Dr Range, d. S. P. Dr Sandeep Singh Mand, District Immunization Officer Asha Mangat and other officials were present.
