Win five thousand in Street for People competition

Town Planners, Architects, Urban Designer Professionals can participate

Amritsar, February 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Ministry of Housing and urban affairs has launched Street for People challenge under the smart city mission. The Challenge aims to create flagship walking initiatives in cities, which focus on place making and liveability. Cities will be required to reimagine their streets as public spaces through the lens of economic regeneration, safety, and child-friendly interventions initiatives, in order to ensure a green recovery from COVID-19. Under this challenge Amritsar is also participating and has launched a designing competition. Giving more information about this, Amritsar Smart City CEO and Corporation Commissioner Ms. Komal Mittal said that under this challenge, the Ramsar Road connecting Shaheedan Sahib with Darbar Sahib and the Municipal Corporation Colony at Chali Khun has been taken as a pilot project. For that professionals and students related to town planning, architecture and urban designing can submit their designs for the Ramsar road and Corporation Colony. Participants who wish to participate in the competition will have to visit this website and register themselves by 19 February and submit their final designs by 18 March. Amritsar Smart City will award the prize money of Rs. 5000 each to the final designs selected for the project.
