
Amritsar, Oct. 29 (Dharminder Rataul) – At least 200 students of Khalsa College today donated blood at `Blood Donation Camp’ organized by the College’s NSS Wing in collaboration of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital (GNDH) and HDFC Bank. Amongst the donors were girl students who enthusiastically took part in the camp held at Sunder Singh Majithia Hall. Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina who inaugurated the Camp, said blood donation is the most sacred donation as blood taken will save hundreds of lives of the needy people. Principal Dr.Mehal Singh said the aim of the camp was to inculcate the sense of social service amongst the students and he was overwhelmed by the response shown by them.
Dr. Ravi Mahajan from GNDH congratulated the students for their participation and said the blood collected will be preserved at GNDH Blood Bank and will be given to the patients of cancer and those injured during accidents. NSS department in charge Dr.Jasjit Kaur Randhawa, Prof.Zorawar Singh, Prof.Sandeep Singh, Prof.Amandeep Singh, Prof. Poonam Sharma and students were present.
