Activities dedicated to 400th Parkash Purb of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

Amritsar, February 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Department of History and Centre On Studies in Sri Guru Granth Sahib organised International Lecture on Feb. 20 in Guru Nanak Dev University. The lecture was delivered by Dr.  Gurmeet Singh Sidhu Prof. and Head Sri Guru Gobind Singh Department of Religious Studies Punjabi University Patiala on the topic “Sociological aspect of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s  Bani. According to him a large number of works have been produced from historical and literary perspective on Guru Tegh bhadhur Ji.  Two three works have been produced from philosophical aspect, but no work is available from sociological aspect. To him one of the reasons for this  that sociology is the subject of modernity and the place which has been  given to Guru in  religion and theology has not been given in sociology.
