Vaccination for general public starts in Kapurthala

Public participation important for success of vaccination campaign – Rahul Chaba

 Kapurthala, March 2 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Vaccination drive for persons above 60 years of age and 45 to 59 years of age with comorbid condition started today in kapurthala.

                 Today ADC Rahul chabha while presiding over a meeting of civil anf health officials said that vaccination was essential to curb the spread of the disease and rumors about it should be avoided. He also said that private hospitals should also come forward to expand the number of vaccination centers so that more people could be vaccinated.

                 He assured the health department that the administration would extend all possible support for the vaccination drive. He also appealed to the people to come forward for vaccination and follow the guidelines of the health department so that the epidemic could be eradicated together.

               District Program Manager Dr. Sukhwinder Kaur informed about Citizen Registration and Appointment for Vaccination on this occasion. It may be mentioned that the vaccination drive has been divided into three parts from today.

                On-the-spot registration can be done by visiting the Vaccination Center in the Mobilization Slot. Vaccination of health workers and frontline workers in the reserve slot will continue as before and in the open slot one can log on to the Arogya Setu app sitting at home. For registration the beneficiary has to have a photo ID must be proof.

                 She also said that a person with comorbid condition must have a medical certificate of illness written by a registered medical practitioner before being vaccinated.

                 On this occasion District Health Officer Dr. Dr. Kuljit Singh, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Raj Karni, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Sarika Duggal, Senior Medical Officer Tara Singh, Dr. Dr. Sandeep Bhola Apart from Sonia Saroya, Ram Singh, Jyoti Anand, Ravinder Jassal, social activist Sudesh Sharma, senior medical officers from the blocks were also present.
