DAV Public School Celebrates Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj

Amritsar, April 19 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road celebrated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj, the great Indian reformist and promoter of Arya Samaj and Vedic values, with great reverence. A Havan was also organised in the school premises on this occasion.

                   A special programme was dedicated to the teachings and ideals of this great educationist Mahatma Hansraj, who was born on April 19, 1864 in Hoshiarpur district. He was a follower of Swami Dayanand the founder of Dayanand Anglo Vedic School system.

                 Tributes were paid to the great soul by the staff members. He was a great nationalist who was an untiring relief worker and was an epitome of excellence. The teachers chanted Vedic mantras, bhajans and recited poems highlighting the vision of the of great scholar for the society, which included widow remarriage, abolition of Sati and child marriages.

                Regional officer Punjab Zone–A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Pushpinder Walia sent their best wishes on this occasion. They urged that one should imbibe true Aryan values for a better living .

                  Mrs. Anita Mehra Principal of the school blessed the teachers and the students. She said that Mahatma Hansraj ji had always propagated enlightenment in the form of education, with an appeal to despise social evils.
