Kapurthala, April 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The ditect benefit transfer to the farmer’s bank accounts against the wheat procurement has almost tounches Rs. 150 crore today with a single day payment of Rs. 51.34 crore.
After paying Rs 42 crore on April 20, Rs.35.87 crore was also paid to farmers on April 21, followed by 51.35 crore on April 22. This brings the total payment to Rs 146.33 crore as on April 22.
Disclosing this here today District Food and Supply Controller Mrs. Geeta Bishambhu said that special staff has been deployed for the registration of the farmers on portal to ensure the payment made to farmers towards the procured wheat within 48 hours.
Apart from this, the Artiyas have also been informed about the registration of the seller so that there is no delay in payment.
She also said that 193352 metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in the total mandis of the district till yesterday, out of which 188077 metric tonnes have been procured so far. Procurement of more wheat than the daily arrival in the mandis is being ensured.
