Bhai Ranjit Singh should not make false statements about SGPC – SGPC officials

Says statement on leasing out Miri-Piri Medical College Trusts far from truth

Amritsar, May 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – SGPC officials have refuted the statement made by former Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh at Fatehgarh Sahib yesterday about the trust of Miri-Piri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Shahbad-Markanda Haryana.

In a joint press statement issued from the SGPC office, SGPC’s Senior Vice President Surjit Singh Bhitewad, Junior Vice President Baba Buta Singh, General secretary Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka and Chief Secretary Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said SGPC manages many trusts and Miri-Piri Medical College trust is also one of them being managed at Shahabad-Markanda in Kurukshetra district of Haryana.

“This trust is the property of SGPC and the statement made by Bhai Ranjit Singh about leasing out this trust is a blatant lie”, said the SGPC officials.

SGPC officials appealed to former Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh not to spread propaganda and false allegations against the Sikh body.

They said that the SGPC is the organisation of the Khalsa Panth and the members of its trusts are nominated by the SGPC itself. “Bhai Ranjit Singh had spoken about leasing out Miri-Piri Trust without any logic and he should not spread such false information among the sangat (congregation). As a former Jathedar, baseless statements do not suit his personality”, said the SGPC officials.

The SGPC officials said that the sangat is well aware that the Sikh body, the SGPC, is serving within the Panthic limits as per norms for the welfare of humanity. They cautioned the sangat against such false statements and appealed to Bhai Ranjit Singh not to resort to vile maneuvers for the sake of fake fame and political gain.
