Amritsar, Nov. 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School , Lawrence Road organised ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ by Oriental Bank of Commerce in its premises. It was a part of the Central Government’s drive against corruption. An Essay writing competition and debate competition was held for the students of Std IX and X on this occasion based on the theme ‘Combating Corruption – Technology as an Enabler’.
Sh.Sham Tandon, DGM , graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the day . Chief Manager Mr. Kanwaljit Singh, Senior Manager Mr. Arvind Mehra , Vigilance officer – Mr. K.K. Singh, Manager Mrs. Asha Tandon, Branch Manager Mrs. Veena Sharma, Sh . Satnam Singh, Ms. Renu , Ms. Ranjana Azad Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school, Mrs.Reman Sharma Supervisor Std IX & X , Mrs. Anu Arora were the other dignitories present on this occasion .
The honourable Chief Guest Sh. Sham Tandon while addressing the students said that there was a dire need to correct the administration. He enlightened the student about the ‘Jan Dhan Yojna’ launched by the honourable Prime Minister. He said the change has to begin from the grass – root level. He added that and there is a need for educated and upright youth who can take the country towards progress. He gave away the prizes to the winners of the competition.
