SGPC services during Covid-19 are commendable – Sukhbir Badal
Ropar, May 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) started seventh Covid Care Centre at Gurdwara Sri Bhattha Sahib in Ropar (Rupnagar) today.
SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal and senior SAD leader Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema inaugurated the Covid Care Centre.
This centre has been equipped with 25-bed and for the treatment of Covid-19 patients, the arrangement is made to provide oxygen with concentrators.
Indian Medical Association (IMA) would also provide full support to SGPC at Ropar and the team of doctors and nurses will be deputed here for 24 hours, said SGPC president.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that SGPC stands by humanity in every difficult hour as per the principles of the Gurus and it continues to render services even today in this harsh time of Covid-19 pandemic.
“SGPC has so far set up seven Covid care centres in different districts of Punjab from where hundreds of patients have recovered and gone home. SGPC president appealed the people to visit this care centre of the SGPC. They will be provided medicines for better treatment with langar facility.
SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Punjab government has failed miserably in dealing with the situation in the state due to Covid-19 pandemic while the Sikh body SGPC has set an example by serving the Covid patients.
He thanked SGPC President, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema and the representatives of IMA for opening a care centre for the people of Ropar.
SGPC members Ajmer Singh Khera and Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, Bhai Amarjit Singh Chawla, Charanjit Singh Kalewal, Paramjit Singh Lakhewal, Jarnail Singh Dogranwala, Jarnail Singh Kartarpur, Surinder Singh Gogi district president Ropar, SGPC additional secretary Sukhminder Singh, OSDs to SGPC president Dr Amrik Singh and Dr Sukhbir Singh, Inderpal Singh Chadha, Paramjit Singh Makkar, Harmohan Singh, manager of Gurdwara Sri Bhattha Sahib Amarjit Singh Jindwarhi, Natha Singh Manager and others were also present.
