Animal Husbandry can enhance Farmers’ Income Manifold – GADVASU VC

 Dr. Inderjit Singh visits Khalsa College, Interact with Management and Faculties

Amritsar, July 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Dr. Inderjeet Singh a well known veterinary scientist and Vice-Chancellor, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) Ludhiana today said that the animal husbandry can enhance farmers’s income manifold. He stressed on the need to nurture and sustain livestock as allied agriculture profession as requirement of milk and animal products is increasing.

            He said this during his visit to Khalsa College Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS) campus here today during an interaction with management and faculty. He discussed the various new challenges before the veterinary doctors in view of the Covid-19 situation and how the veterinary science and expertise have helped the medical fraternity to deal with the corona virus epidemic outbreak.

            He was received at the campus by KCVAS Principal Dr. P.K Kapoor and MD Dr. S.K Nagpal. He also held a meeting with Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) honorary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina.

            Being himself a decorated veterinary academician, Dr. Inderjit Singh praised the high grade infrastructure and rich faculty of the KCVAS, which, he said, is the only College in the private sector in the area. “The infrastructure in the College humble even the government institutions”, said he as he took the round in the corridors of the KCVAS.

            He visited the multi-disciplinary Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC) of the College at the village Mahal and took stock of the medical services available for the treatment of animals. Mr. Chhina honoured Dr. Inderjit Singh along with Dr. Kapoor and Dr. Nagpal.
