Amritsar, July 28 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School Lawrence Road observed World Nature Conservation Day in its premises. A special assembly was organised by the teachers on this occasion. The assembly began by seeking the blessings of Almighty. Celebrating this year’s theme “Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining people and planet’, the teachers shared their views on how to protect the natural resources. They spoke on the measures which should be taken to save planet from pollution, deforestation, global warming, poaching etc. as they pose a major threat to nature. ‘A healthy environment is a foundation for stable and productive society’. In the end they appealed that everyone should respect the natural inheritance and follow ‘Green Lifestyle’.
Regional officer Punjab Zone –A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Pushpinder Walia Principal BBK DAV College, in their message said that we all depend upon natural resources like air , water , soil etc. So there is an urgent need to change our casual approach and join hands to conserve nature.
Mrs. Anita Mehra Principal of the school in her message urged that we must promote efficient usage of resources. She added that our survival depends upon the good quality of environment around us and this responsibility lies on us to improve and conserve nature.
