Deputy Commissioner distributes loan waiver certificates to beneficiaries
Kapurthala, August 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab Government has launched the loan waiver scheme for landless farmers and labourers today under which 14597 farmers of kapurthala district will get the loan waiver worth Rs.26.99 crore.
After taking part vertually in the state level function in this regard at Roopnagar at district administrative complex here, Deputy commissioner Kapurthala Deepti Uppal, officials from cooperative department, chairman district planning board Kapurthala Anup Kalhan, vice chairman Market committee Rajinder Kaura, chairman kapurthala improvement Trust Manoj bhasin, Block congress president Amarjeet singh and block Samiti member Gurdeep Singh distributes loan waiver certificates to the beneficiaries from all 4 assembly constituencies.
Addressing the farmers Deputy commissioner said that from Kapurthala assembly constituency 2823 farmers will get loan waiver of Rs.5.33 crore whereas in bholath 4018 farmers will get benefit upto Rs.7.16 crore . Besides that from Sultanpur Lodhi 5884 farmers will receive benefit of Rs.10.65 crore and in Phagwara 1872 farmers will get benefit of 3.85 crore.
Hailing the decision of Punjab Government, farmer Kirpal Singh whose loan worth Rs. 38875 has been waived off, said that it was only this time that the landless farmers were on the agenda of any government.
