GNDU ‘B’ Zone Zonal Youth Festival concluded

Amritsar, October 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University was concluded here today in the Dasmesh Auditorium of the University with sweet & sore memories of victory and defeat. As many as 400 student-artists from the affiliated colleges of Tarn Taran, Pathankot & Gurdaspur districts participated in 36 items of Music, Theatre, Dance, Literary & Fine Arts.

            Prof. Hardeep Singh, Dean Academic Affairs presided over the prize distribution function Prof. Anish Dua, Dean Student’s Welfare and Incharge of Youth Welfare Department welcomed the chief guest. Advisor S. Baljit Singh Sekhon gave details of the achievements of Youth Welfare Department.

            In the result of B Zone Zonal Youth Festival ‘A’ Division winner is Swami Swatantantra Nand College Dina Nagar, First Runners’up is Shanti Devi Arya Mahila Maha Vid., Dina Nagar and  Second Runners’up: Pt. Mohan Lal SD College for women Gurdaspur

In ‘B’ Division Winner is Guru Arjan Dev Khalsa.Coll. Chohla Sahib, First Runners’up: SL Bawa DAV College Batala  and Second Runners’up is Sikh National College Qadian

        While congratulating the students artists Prof. Hardeep Singh said that these youth festivals not only revive our rich cultural heritage but gives us spirit of team work and good health. He also congratulated Youth Welfare Department for successfully organizing this youth festival.  The Guests gave away trophies to the winners and Prof. Dua honoured the Chief Guest & others with memento.

            Today, the competitions of General Dance, Gidha, Western Vocal Solo and Western Group Song were organized simultaneously on different stages in the University Campus i.e. Dasmesh Auditorium Guru Nanak Bhawan.
