Three days 65th World Sikh Educational Conference – A Proud Moment

 Tarn Taran, Nov. 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Under the aegis of Chief Khalsa Diwan Educational Committee which was established in 1908, with an aim to promote the educational , social , spiritual , moral and economic welfare of the Sikhs has organized a three days educational conference which started today at Chief Khalsa Diwan Institute of Management & Technology , Tarn Taran with great enthusiasm. Various eminent personalities and renowned educationist from all over the world have already arrived here to witness the spectacular event.

To begin with, the Educational Committee of Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society performed the Bhog ceremony of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at CKD Institute of Management & Technology, Tarn Taran, A Special Ardas was conducted for the success of the 65th World Sikh Educational Conference.

In the context of the ongoing conference, an exhibition of books, Sikh Art & Artifacts, traditional Musical Instruments and Weaponries was hosted by the CKD Institute of Management & Technology, Tarn Taran. The highlight of today, the exhibition was inaugurated by Honorable Chief Guest S. Ranjit Singh Bramhpura, Member Parliament .

Literary works of the illustrious personalities were displayed. Books related to Sikh history,culture and heritage were the main attractions.

The paintings exhibited the sacrifices made by the Lions of Khalsa for the honour and pride of Sikhism. A special section was dedicated to give a tribute to the Sikh martyrs of the First World War.

Various Traditional Musical Instruments and weaponries were displayed to promote and elevate the Sikh culture. The main objective of the exhibition was to connect the new generation with their rich Punjabi Virsa.

The organic farming section experts briefed about the advantages of Organic and Natural farming .Methods to increase the agricultural production with less use of fertilizers were explained. Special emphasis was laid on Eco-bins, rain water harvesting and utilization of kitchen waste for making natural manure. The working models made by the students of various CKD Schools steeled the show. Free samples of the Organic seeds and books related to it were distributed to the visitors.

The Honorable Chief Guest appreciated the efforts made by the students and the staff and described the exhibition very educative and informative.

A high level subject committee meeting took place to discuss the new projects regarding the further development of CKD & its institutions. The main highlight of the next day program is the Nagar Kirtan and the play ‘Komagata Maru’ dedicated to the Sikh Martyrs. The Resident President S. Nirmal Singh, Honorary Secretary S. Narinder Singh Khurana, Additional Honorary Secretary Educational Committee S. Santokh Singh Sethi, General Secretary Conference Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon, Local Committee President S. Manjit Singh Tarn Tarani , Member Incharge S. Harjit Singh, Member Incharge S. Kuljit Singh (Singh Brothers), S. Jaswinder Singh Advocate, S. Pritpal Singh Sethi, S.S.P Singh Walia, S. Sinder Singh Kathunangal, S. Surjit Singhi, S. Harminder Singh Freedom, Dr. Dharmveer Singh, Member Incharge S. Bharpur Singh and other CKD dignitaries were present to grace the occasion.
