Amritsar, October 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Bibi Jagir
Kaur has strongly objected to the Congress party awarding a post to Jagdish Tytler, the main accused in the 1984 Delhi Sikh genocide. She said that it is an act that has hurt the sentiments of Sikhs.
In a press statement issued from the SGPC office on Saturday Bibi Jagir Kaur questioned the Congress party’s appointment of Jagdish Tytler as the party’s permanent invitee.
“Giving political positions time and again to the main accused of killing thousands of innocent Sikhs in November 1984 is direct support to the killers by the Congress party. It is inhumane thinking of the Congress party which could not be accepted by the society. Even more tragic is the fact that with the Tytler’s appointment salt has been rubbed on the wounds of Sikhs on the occasion of anniversary (in November) of the Sikh genocide”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
The SGPC President said that no serious person could justify this action of the Congress and with this it is clear that the Congress party is the enemy of the Sikhs which is “deliberately inflicting mental anguish on the Sikhs”.
She said that the SGPC, the apex body of Sikhs, strongly condemns the decision of the Congress and will continue its efforts to ensure severe punishment to Jagdish Tytler and other culprits.
