Second Day of 65th World Sikh Educational Conference

Singh Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib performed beginning Ardas of the Nagar Kirtan

Tarn Taran, Nov. 15 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In the context of the 65th World Sikh Conference the second day of this glorious event began with the sprititual escastay. Kirtan Aasa di Vaar was performed by Bhai Ranjit Singh Ji Chandigarh Wale at Gurudawara Sahib Bhai Veer Singh Ji Old Age home,Tarn Taran, which engulfed the sangat into a deep mystic self-trancedence.
Yesterday in the Kirtan Darbar at Sri Guruduara Manji Sahib, Tarn taran the students of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Sr. Sec. School, Tarn Taran, Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Sr. Sec. School, G.T. Road, Amritsar, Jatha from Miri Piri Academy, Jatha of Bibi Prabhjot Kaur, Bhai Rai Singh Hazuri Raagi, Amritsar, Bhai Balwinder Singh Rangila soothed the sangat with their enchanting and mesmerizing Kirtan.

CKD President S. Charanjit Singh Chadha, Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon, General Secretary Conference, Dr. Dharamvir Singh, Director of Education CKD honored Baba Sewa Singh (Khadoor Sahib Wale), Baba Bhajan Singh Pehalwan, Manager Sri Darbar Sahib Tarn Taran, Coordinator Kirtan Darbar Principal Navneet Kaur Ahuja, Principal Mrs. Pritam Kaur Khalsa and Mrs. Ripudaman Kaur.
Local Committee President S. Manjit Singh Ji Tarn Tarani, S. Harjit Singh Ji Kothi Wale, S. Charanjit Singh Kothi Wale, S. Gurinder Singh Lohe Wale, Principals, Teachers and Students of various schools marked their presence.
The spot light of the day was the Grand Ceremonial Proceeding of Nagar Kirtan which started from Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sen.Sec. School Tarn Taran. To mark the beginning of the Nagar Kirtan Singh Sahib Bhai Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib performed a special Ardas .While the Nagar Kiratn passed through the different parts of the city, the city people put up langars at different points for the sangat. Flowers were showered on the Palki Sahib .The atmosphere was al filled with spirituality and Bhagti Ras entralling all sangat. Guru Prashad was served to all.
CKD Management & staff extended a warm welcome to the huge Nagar Kirtan under the umbrella of Dhan –Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and “Panj Piyare”. Welcome was headed by honorable S. Charanjit Singh Chadda (President CKDCS), S. Nirmal Singh (Resident President), S. Narinder Singh Khurana (Honorary Secretary) and the other dignitaries of CKD.A special ardas was conducted by Giani Kewal Singh ji.
All the prestigious personalities, social scholars who had given their selfless service for the occassion were honored by him. He also gave his presence at the “Atut Langer”.
With great obeisance and religious fervor the ceremony of hoisting Nishan Sahib at CKD Institute of Management was conducted. The pious ‘Akal Purakh Di Fauj’, showing a dutiful spirit of reverence gave a grand salute to the sanctified Nishan Sahib.
Later in the day four seminars were conducted at CKD Institute of Management & Technology Tarn Taran.
The First seminar was on Sikh Educational Institutions (Status & Direction). The Chief Guest of this seminar was Dr. Dharam Veer Singh (Director Education). The Convener of this seminar were Dr. Sukhbir Kaur Mahal and Professor Baljinder Singh and Col. Parduman Singh, S. Kulmohan Singh, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Principal S. Jagdish Singh were the speaker.
The Chief Guest of the second seminar on “Drugs Free Punjab” was Dr. Harminder Kaur Patiala. The convener of this seminar were S. Iqbal Singh (I.P.S. Retd.) and Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar. S. Kulbir Singh (Retd. IAS), S. Balwinder Singh, S. Rattan Singh Pekhoke, S. Avtar Singh, S. Gurpreet Singh Tur (IPS), S. Sawraj Singh (USA) were the speakers.
The third seminar was based on Sikh Educational Institutions which are based abroad .The Chief Guest of the seminar was S. S.P. Singh Oberoi (Dubai).The main speaker of this seminar was Smt. Gursharan Kaur Kandra. S.Roop Singh, S. Raghbir Singh Bains (Canada), S. Bhupinder Singh ( Holand), Education Director Dr. Dharmveer Singh exchange their views. The Convener were Dr.S.P Singh (Former VC GNDU & Additional Honorary Sec.) for this conference are Dr. S.P Singh , Former V.C. (GNDU) and S. Santokh Singh Sethi .The Last Seminars was based on environment and Organing Farming. The Conveners are S. Surinder Singh Kathunangal , S. Gurbir Sing and S.Rajbir Singh. The Chief Guest Dr. B.S Dhillon V.C (P.A.U).
The organizers disclosed that a meeting of the subject committee will take place at 5 pm. A play directed by Kawal Dhaliwal dedicated to the centurion celebration of the event of ‘Komagatamaru’ will be the main highlight of the cultural evening .To promote the Punajbi Virsa various cultural items will be presented by students of different schools.
