Amritsar, November 26 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Portraits of three important Sikh personalities were displayed in the Central Sikh Museum today, including Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s (SGPC) former general secretary Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Wadala, Baba Ram Singh Nanaksar Singhra, Karnal, and Baba Didar Singh Harkhowal Wale.
After the ardas (prayer), the portraits were unveiled by SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur in the presence of Head Granthi of Sri Harmandar Sahib, Giani Jagtar Singh and other prominent personalities.
Speaking on this occasion, Bibi Jagir Kaur said that the Central Sikh Museum houses the living history of the Sikh community and the portraits of those personalities are displayed here who render great services to the Panth. She said Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Wadala, Baba Ram Singh and Baba Didar Singh are the ones among such personalities as all three have rendered special Panthic services.
While Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Wadala served as the general secretary of SGPC, he worked for 18 years for the Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor to Pakistan. Similarly, Baba Ram Singh and Baba Didar Singh were great personalities devoted to the Sikh faith. These great personalities not only made their lives successful through devotion to the remembrance of one God’s name but also inspired the Sangat (community) to stay attached to Gurbani to live a better life.
Giani Jagtar Singh and SGPC’s chief secretary Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami lauded the SGPC’s decision to display portraits of these personalities and appealed to the community to take inspiration from their lives. The persons related to all three personalities were honoured with Siropaos (robe of honour).
