Amritsar, November 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The “A” Zone Zonal Youth festival of Guru Nanak Dev University was inaugurated with the beat on Dhol here today in the Dasmesh Auditorium of the University. Prof. B.S Chadha Director of Research formally inaugurated this festival by lighting candles. On this occasion Prof. Dr. Anish Dua, Dean Student’s Welfare and In charge Youth Welfare Department was also present. Students of different colleges from Amritsar district will participate in 36 items of Music, Theatre, Danc and Literary & Fine Arts.
Prof. Chadha said that youth are the pillars of a nation. The youth festivals are a part of education and it plays important role to promote our rich cultural heritage. He said that these festivals also explore the concept of national integration, spirit of communal harmony, brotherhood, courage and adventure amongst the youth by exhibiting their art in a common platform. Earlier, Prof. Anish Dua welcomed the chief guest. Today, the competitions of Bhangra, Group Shabad/Bhajan, Group Song (Indian) and Folk Orchestra were organized in the Dashmesh Auditorium. Sh. Baljit Singh Sekhon, Advisor, Youth Welfare Department was also present.
While sharing details about 36 different competitions, Prof. Dua said that the classroom has an important role to construct a good society but the practical knowledge plays a important role during the student life. He said that in our life discipline, practical knowledge, multi-talent personality and hard work lead to success.
On the stage of Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium, Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Classical Instrumental (Non-Percussion), Classical Vocal, Vaar Singing and Kawishri and on the stage of Architecture Department the competitons of Painting on the Spot, Cartooning, Poster Making, On the Spot Photography, Collage, Clay Modeling, and Installation were organized.
On November 27, 2021 the competitions of Costume Parade, Skit, Mimicry, Mime, One Act Play will be organized in the Dashmesh Auditorium and Geet/Gazal, Folk Song will be held in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium. On the Conference Hall Third Stage, the competitions of Poetical Symposium, Elocution, Debate and Quiz Preliminary and on the Archtecture Department Stage Rangoli, Phulkari and Mehndi competitions will be organized.
On November 28, 2021 in the Dasmesh Auditorium of the University, the competitions of General Dance, Classical Dance & Gidha will be held and Western Vocal Solo, Western Instrumental & Western Group Song will be organized in the Guru Nanak Bhawan Auditorium. On this day prize distribution function will be held in the Dasmesh Auditorium of the University.
