Amritsar, Nov. 21(Punjab Post Bureau) – Ms. Pooja of BBK DAV College for Women, has brought laurels to the institution by bagging six gold medals in World Power Lifting Championship, in both equipped and unequipped categories. Ms. Pooja was among the five team members who represented India at the world championship held at Las Vegas, USA, from October 17 to 19, 2014. A total of 22 countries participated in the event. Pooja won three Gold Medals in equipped (Power Lifting, Bench Press, and Dead Lift). She was the only Indian Player to win 6 Gold Medals. Congratulating her for her achievement, Principal of the college Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra said, “She has made the entire nation proud and it is an honour us in to have her as our student” HOD Sports Department Mrs. Sweety Bala, Mr. Davinder Sharma, Mr. Shiv Kumar, Mrs. Sukhbir Kaur, Prof. Savita, Prof. Rupinder Kaur gave her a warm welcome on her arrival.
