Amritsar, April 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Arya Samaj Foundation Day was observed in DAV Public School, Lawrence Road with great reverence and keeping the pious ideologies of Arya Samaj in mind. Founded by Swami Dayanand Saraswati in 1875, the Arya Samaj was started as a reform movement to free Society from incorrect beliefs and corrupt practices and put emphasis on Vedic values.
On this auspicious day a holy hawan was performed in the school’s premises. The whole atmosphere echoed with holy hymns and vedic mantras. A special morning assembly was also conducted on this occasion in which the students paid heartfelt homage to Swami Dayanand Saraswati. They talked about the ten principles of Arya Samaj that are purely based on God, soul and nature. They also informed about the aim and objective of Arya Samaj. Its main motive is to let the whole world be made noble and improve the physical, spiritual and social well being of all mankind. In the end, the students took a pledge to follow the principles of Arya Samaj and the path shown by Swami Dayanand.
Regional Officer Punjab Zone A Dr. Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Pushpinder Walia sent their best wishes on this occasion and urged everyone to take the legacy of Swami Dayanand forward who was an embodiment of spiritual practicality.
Mr. Balwinder Singh officiating Teacher Incharge of the school gave his blessings to the students and the teachers and said that Arya Samaj and its principles are indispensable to humanity. One must imbibe the qualities mentioned in Vedas and make positive contribution to the society.
