Sh. Swatantra Kumar IRS inaugurated Two days Central Revenue Cultural Meet- North Zone, 2014 at Punjab Naatshala

Amritsar, Dec. 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Income Tax Department hosted the Two days Central Revenue Cultural Meet- North Zone, 2014 meet to be held at the Punjab Naatshala today. The meet was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Sh. Swatantra Kumar, IRS, Pr. Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, NWR, Chandigarh alongwith the Guest of Honour Smt. Nishi Singh, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Amritsar. Officers and Officials of Income Tax Department as well as Custom and Central Excise Department across the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana,   J & K, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi participated in the meet. The premier event showcased the talent of the officers and staff of both the departments in various fields of drama and Art such as plays, vocal and instrumental music, group dance, songs etc.

Inaugurating the meet, the Principal CCIT, NWR addressed the audience and stressed on the need for such events so as to keep the mind and spirit refreshed, which in turn results in better focus at work. He applauded the efforts of the Organising Committee for the successful management of the event. His address was followed by a scintillating bhangra performance by the boys of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Hayer, Amritsar, which had the audience tapping its feet to the rhythm of the dhol.

On the first day of the meet, five plays were staged on different themes of the prevailing political system, the deteriorating conscience of the people of India towards its motherland etc. The second day shall witness performances of vocal and instrumental music, group dance, song etc. The Chairman of the Organising Committee, Sh. Yogender Chaudhry, Commissioner, said that the team of officers and staff had worked tirelessly day and night to make the event a success. He also placed on record his appreciation for Sh. Jatinder Singh Brar, trustee, Punjab Naatshaala, for his support during the event. The ambience of the ultra-techno Naatshaala added zest and elegance to the performances. The organizing team included Dr. Tarundeep Kaur, Ratinder Kaur, sboth Deputy commissioners of Income tax, Sh. Virender Singh, and Dr. Kanchan Garg, Asstt. Commissioners and Sh. Ajay Kumar, DD Systems who also compered the event.
