48th Annual Convocation on November 25
Amritsar, November 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Guru Nanak Dev University is celebrating its 53rd Foundation Day 
on 24th November, 2022 (Friday) at the different venues with the various activities in the University campus. Major buildings of the University will be illuminated with colorful lights to give a festive look.
Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon, Registrar of the University said that to celebrate this event, Dr. Yogesh Kumar Chawla, Former Director Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh and Dr. Sarbjinder Singh, Dean, Faculty of humanities and Religious Studies, Chairperson, Sant Prem Singh Murale Wale Chair of the University will deliver the academic lecture in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Auditorium of the University at 11:00 am.
He said that the celebrations will start with Aranbh of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at University Gurdwara Sahib on Nov 22. On the Foundation day i.e. November 24, he said after the Bhog Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Kirtan will be recited by Hazoori Ragi, Sri Harmandir Sahib.
He said that the Folklore Exhibition and Painting exhibition would be the main attractions during these celebrations which would be organized near Bhai Gurdas Library and in the Gallery-History & Dreams at the University campus. Guru-Ka-Langar would be serverd opposite Multipurpose Indoor Stadium lawns. In the evening, special Kirtan Darbar at the University Gurdwara Sahib will also be organized followed by Guru ka Langer Dudh-Jalebi.
After a day i.e. on November 25 (Friday), in anther mega event 48th Annual Convocation of the Guru Nanak Dev University Sh. Iqbal Singh Chahal (IAS), Municipal Commissioner & Administrator of Brihan mumbai, Muncipal Corporation, Maharashtra and Prof. Gagandeep Kang (FRS), Department of Gastrointestinal Science at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu will be honoured with honoris causa degrees in the Golden Jubilee Convention Centre of the University.
Prof. Karanjeet Singh Kahlon said that Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of the Guru Nanak Dev University, Sh. Banwarilal Purohit will be delivering the convocation address on this occasion. The meritorious students will be awarded with medals and degrees during this convocation.
