Govt should reconsider decision and issue orders to implement previous policy

Amritsar, May 28 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami has strongly condemned the decision of stopping Punjabi news bulletins from All India Radio’s (Akashwani) centers operating at the national capital Delhi and Punjab’s capital Chandigarh. He said that this decision of the government is discriminatory against Punjab and Punjabi language, which should be withdrawn immediately.

Harjinder Singh Dhami said that a large number of Punjabis live in Delhi, while Chandigarh is the capital of Punjab, and stopping Punjabi language bulletins from these areas is a big unjustness to Punjab and Punjabis. He said that it is necessary that the governments should make efforts to promote regional languages, but it has been the opposite.
