Strict action will be taken against officials involved in illegal mining -Jauramajra

Amritsar, January 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In a meeting with officials, Chetan Singh Jauramajra, Cabinet Minister for soil and Water Conservation, Mining made it clear to the officials  that illegal mining is not tolerate under any circumstances. He was in Amritsar on Tuesday.

He said that all officers must ensured that the realty of the soil under mining should also be deposited in time. He said that hundreds of kilometers of National Highways are being built in the state, but the reality of this is not being collected completely. He said in a strict tone that legal action will be taken against any official who has been lax on the issue of illegal mining and realty.

He asserted that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is observing attempts made to deliver canal water to the fields in the last monsoon season so that the department is making efforts to save underground water for future generations and this work can only be done by using canal water. He said that the previous governments have turned a deaf ear to this serious issue, due to which the entire structure of canal water was almost destroyed, which will be brought fully on track during this monsoon season to ensure that canal water reaches every field. He said that the officers of the department should not keep any work pending.

Mr Jauramajra said that the government has purchased 10 big machines for this work and if more is needed then will be purchasing more machinery. He said that earlier governments used to get this work from contractor’s, but now by purchasing machines, the cost has been saved by 60 percent and the work has also started getting better. On this occasion, MLA Sherry Kalsi, MLA Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Vivek Modi, Chairman Shri Raman Behl,  Jagrup Singh Sekhwan, Sukhjinderraj Singh Lali Majithia, Chairman Baldev Singh, Chairman Ranjit Singh Cheema, Chairman Balbir Singh Pannu, Samsher Singh Dinanagar, Gurdeep Singh Randhawa and other senior leaders participated in the meeting and shared the issues of their respective areas with the Cabinet Minister. All the MLAs and leaders appreciated the initiative taken by the Cabinet Minister that after a long time, a government has taken up these important departments. He also assured to give all kind of support from his side.
