BBK DAV College for Women organizes a Book Reading Session

Aritsar, May 29 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Mahatma Hansraj Library of BBK DAV College for Women organized a book reading session featuring Mrs. Arveena Soni Poetess Joint Director Golden Sarovar Portico and Joint Treasurer FICCI FLO Amritsar. Dr. Simarpreet Sandhu Chairperson FICCI FLO graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

In her address Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia emphasised the importance of fostering reading habits among students. She added that book reading sessions provide a conducive and supportive environment, enabling young individuals to immerse themselves in the transformative power of literature. Dr. Walia also commended the efforts of FICCI FLO towards women empowerment and societal development.

Dr. Simarpreet Sandhu expressed her sincere gratitude to the college and lauded its diligent efforts in organising such an enlightening session.

During the session Arveena Soni the author of Poetry in Motion shared that her book is dedicated to every woman, with each poem reflecting a piece of her soul. Recollecting her student days at BBK DAV College, she nostalgically reminisced about her time there. The event included poetry readings by college students and an interactive session with the author, where attendees had the opportunity to engage in dialogue and pose questions.

Dr. Swati Datta the college librarian presented the vote of thanks to the esteemed guests. The event was also attended by Himani Arora Ex-Chairperson FICCI FLO along with Drishti Khurana Treasurer FICCI FLO, Stuti Kapoor and Shivani Sharma, Executive Committee Members, FICCI FLO, Mrs. Kiran Gupta Dean Admissions, Dr. Anita Narinder Dean Community Development Initiatives, Dr. Naresh Dean Youth Welfare Department and other faculty members and students.
