Amritsar, Jan. 12 (Manjit Kaur) – To make the students aware of traffic rules, 26th International Road Safety week from January 11 to January 17, 2015 was observed. With a view to sensitize the students about importance of traffic rules to avoid accidents, the school organized a debate competition on importance of traffic rules in which students of different schools of Amritsar participated. Director / Principal Dr. DharamVeer Singh accorded a warm welcome to S.I. Paramjit Singh & Mr. D. Jatinder Inspector Traffic. He focused on the safety measure to be taken by the drivers while driving school buses. S.I. S. Paramjit Singh in his speech made students aware of signs and signals, mandatory signs and informatory signs. He highlighted on the main reason of accidents, which are rash driving, triple riding, overtaking, using mobile phone while driving and driving without helmet. The students were apprised about traffic rules to be followed with the slogans ‘Better late than never’ and ‘Lane driving is sane driving’ Director/Principal Dr. DharamVeer Singh stressed upon the need of organizing a workshop for the drivers and informed that brouchers and booklets will be distributed to the drivers for safe driving. Headmistress Mrs. Kawalpreet Kaur stressed upon concentration without driving and never mix driving/drinking which is the need of the hour.
