The Indian Academy of  Fine Arts organised annual Sahir Ludhianvi Nite

Amritsar, March 18 (Punjab Post) –    The Indian Academy of Fine Arts organized its annual Sahir Ludhianvi Nite, continuing the tradition for the 26th consecutive year. The event is dedicated to celebrating the literary and musical legacy of the legendary poet and lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi. Rotary Zone Amritsar comprising of 15 Rotary Clubs associated with the event.

The theme for this year’s program was qawwalis penned by Sahir Ludhianvi. During the evening, seven qawwalis written by Sahir Ludhianvi were presented, highlighting the depth, romance, and social sensitivity that characterize his poetry.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was S. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Pro-Chancellor of Khalsa University and President IAFA. The Guests of Honour included Avinash Mohindru, Arun Kapoor, M. M Jerath, Vipin Bhasin, HS Jogi and P. S Rai, who appreciated the Academy for sustaining such a meaningful cultural tradition.

The qawwalis were melodiously rendered by talented students of Bawa Music Academy, who captivated the audience with their soulful performances.

The programme was conceived and convened by Dr. P.S Grover, Hon General Secretary IAFA and Rotary Governor 2024-25; while the evening was gracefully anchored by madam Jasmeet Nayyer Ex Director Punjab Education Department.

The event witnessed the presence of a large number of literature lovers, music enthusiasts, and admirers of Sahir Ludhianvi’s poetry viz Pushpinder Grover President Punjab Council of Art & Literature. The audience warmly applauded the performers and organisers for presenting an engaging and memorable cultural evening.
