BBK DAV College team wins GNDU Inter College Taekwondo Championship

Amritsar, Jan. 29 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Taekwondo team of BBK DAV College for Women won the GNDU Inter College Taekwondo Championship held at GNDU Campus, Amritsar on 26^th January, 2015 by getting 28 points. The College team made a clean sweep in all the events by getting Five Gold Medals, and One Silver Medal. S.R. Govt. College, Amritsar got runner up position and Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar got 2^nd runner up position. Ms. Rohini, Ms. Richa, Ms. Kanika, Ms. Amanpreet and Ms. Leena won Gold Medals in 46kg, 53kg, 57kg, 62kg and 67kg weight categories respectively. All the Gold and Silver medalist players are selected for All India Intervarsity camp which is going to be held at Chennai in the month of March, 2015. Other team members are Shivali and Kiranjit.

                  Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra congratulated the players and wished them good luck for their upcoming tournament. Mrs. Sweety Bala HOD, Sports Department and teachers Ms. Savita Kumari, Ms. Rupinder Kaur, Ms. Rajwant Kaur and Coach Mr. Lakshman Prasad congratulated the winners and appreciated them for their efforts.
