Amritsar, April 4 ( PunjabPost Bureau)- Youth Akali Dal Chief and Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today targeted Congress leaders for being in fray of Lok Sabha elections all due to compulsions. He said one after the other leaders are refusing to contest polls and many are leaving the Congress even after they were `forcibly’ given the tickets to fight. In a press statement issued here, Majithia gave an example of Congress candidate Ramesh Chander Tomar from Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida) who seeing the Congress’s imminent defeat, joined the BJP today and said good bye to the Congress. “The Congress leaders in hoards are trying to jump into the bandwagon of the BJP due to the message written on the wall that the next government in Centre will be that of the NDA with Narendra Modi as next Prime Minister. Majithia also hit hard at former Chief Minister and Congress candidate for Amritsar Lok Sabha Captain Amarinder Singh saying that he never issue threats like Captain. “I believe in development and the people of my constituency knows this very well, I do not issue threats like you (Captain)’’, said Majithia adding that the Akali leaders and workers will not bow to the fake threats and foul language being used by Captain. “We do not resort to such language and you should comment on issues confronting the public and not the personal’’, said he. He meanwhile aid that the outburst of captain was just because of the frustration that Captain was in following he being forced to contest the Amritsar seat. “We know he wanted to take rest in the hills and did not want to contest but was forced to do so by her party President Sonia Gandhi. He is frustrated and does not know what he is saying’’, added Majithia. He again raked up the issue of non-availibility of Captain to the public and his own leaders and how people al are set to force him out of Amritsar during the elections. He reminded Captain how he failed as CM of the state and people voted for Parkash Singh Badal to be the CM. He said they did not resort to the policy of victimization as did Captain during his rule and registered false cases against Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal. “He did not spare even the female members of the Badal family. We never resorted to such kind of political vendetta’’, said Majithia.
