SGHPS organizes  Musical concert  ‘Guldasta’

Amritsar, Apr. 21 (Manjit Kaur) – The  auditorium of Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School, G. T. Road , Amritsar was engulfed in a different aura as it played host to the Musical Concert  ‘Guldasta’ wherein a beautiful concoction of the classical music was witnessed . Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Head/Dean faculty of visual and performing arts and Director universal life-long learning Deptt. GNDU was the chief guest for the occasion. S. Baldev Singh , Principal sikh  missionary college, Asr, S. Tejbir Singh,  Prominent folk singer and S. Harminder Singh Member Incharge of School were the guests of honour. The judges for the programme were Prof. Satish Kumar, eminent sitarist, Dr. Murli Manohar, tabla Vadak, Sh. Kale Ram Ji, the eminent Tabla Vadak from Punjab Gharana and Dr. Amarpali Kaur Member Incharge International school and daughter of Ustaad Avtar Singh Ji Naaz. Principal/Director Dr. Dharam Veer Singh after his welcome address said that such concerts are efforts to inculcate the interest for classical music in the young generation.

          The students from different schools of Amritsar Sahodaya schools complex performed during the concert and all the students were gifted and talented musicians. As the ragas developed, the audience was drawn into its tunes and rhythms and a contemplative meditation descended upon the audience. At the end the chief guest and guests of honour awarded the prizes to the students. Students of Spring Dale School, Bhavan’s school, Sri Guru Harkrishan G. T. Road School, Delhi Public School, Wood Blossom school, SSSS Modern School, Khalsa College International school, DAV Public Scholl and Cambridge school got ‘A Grade’. Army Public School, R.D. Khosla Batala, Wood Stuck School, Sri Guru Harkrishan public  school patti, DIPS School Rayya, DAV International School, DAV Police Public and Khalsa College Public School got ‘B’ Grade. Davindra international school, Guru Nanak Academy, MKD DAV Attari, Amritsar Public School, DPS Gurdaspur, Sri Guru Harkrishan Tarn Taran and DIPS Mehta got ‘C’ Grade. Baba Deep Singh School, Sri Guru Harkrishan public school Chabhal and DAV Batala were graded consolation prize.
