Amritsar, July 5 (Punjab Post Burea) – With a view to inculcate martial art skills among women the Punjab Gatka Association is going to hold three days Gatka training workshop for girls at central orphanage Amritsar from July 17 to 19 in association with district Gatka unit. Giving details Punjab Gatka Association general secretary Harjeet Singh Grewal and president district Gatka association Amritsar Sarbjit Singh said this extensive course has been designed especially for Majha and Doaba regions in which martial art experts would take theory and practical classes. “Women players having age more than 22 years with experience of atleast two years can join this certification camp”, they added. Grewal informed that after successful completion of this training module, the Gatka Association would hand over certificates and identify cards to successful campers and officials. Mr Grewal said this course was aimed at to promote activities of Punjab Gatka Association’s women wing to organise more women Gatka tournaments and training camps in the state. He said women players aspiring to join this certified course could contact for early registration with state coordinator Udey Singh and national coordinator Baljinder Singh Toor or district Gatka Association.
