Udit Raj appeal in favor of Jaitly to Dalit Voters

Amritsar, 16 April (Jasbir Singh Saggu)- Renowned Dalit thinker and national executive member of BJP , Dr. Udit Raj made an appeal to Dalit Samaj to vote and support BJP-SAD alliance. He said that Arun Jaitley , alliance candidate from Amritsar constituency ,has always raised issues of Dalits and downtrodden and it becomes duty of dalits to vote for Mr Jaitley and ensure his victory. He further said that UPA in the last 10 years had done nothing for the upliftment of dalits , whereas, NDA, under Atal Bihari Vajpayee, reinstated benefits of reservation by amending the constitution thrice under 81^st , 82^nd and 85^thconstitutional amendment act. In 1997 five anti-reservation acts were passed and in protest an all India federation of several SC-ST organizations were formed under the leadership of Dr. Udit Raj was formed. This federation organized agitation in 1997, 98, 99 and 2000.Yielding to the demands Atal government amended the constitution. Whereas in the last 10 years UPA government could not get the long pending reservation bill passed. Even reservation in promotion bill could not be passed. Rights got from Vajpayee government could not  be sustained due to poor representation in the Lucknow High Court by Mayavati government. Dr. Udit Raj expressed hope that with government in power, under the leadership of Narendra Modi will get their representation. He was addressing a press conference in media center Amritsar.
