DC orders registration of FIRs against illegal mining near Sahowal village

Warns that illegal mining not to be tolerated – Ramdas police booked 4 persons

PPN0109201514Amritsar, Sept. 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Taking a strong notice of illegal mining near village Sahowal of Ajnala tehsil, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ravi Bhagat today issued directions to register an FIR against the persons indulged in the practice of illegal mining near Sahowal village besides asking Civil and Police administration to check illegal mining with heavy hand in the district.  Mr.Bhagat also formed a committee under the supervision of SDM Ajnala, DSP Ajanla, Forest Range Officer and General Manager Mining to visit the spot and take the stock of the situation besides initiating strict legal actions against those indulged in this practice. The Deputy Commissioner said that under the campaign launched by District Administration against illegal mining of minerals and strict legal action will be initiated.  The Deputy Commissioner said that committed will visit the spot and submit a detailed report immediately so that the necessary action could be taken. He said that as per the preliminary inputs in this regard 4 persons have been booked under section 379 and Mining Act. Meanwhile, the committee constituted to look into the matter under the supervision of SDM Ajnala Mr. Surinder Singh accompanied by other members including DSP Tilak Raj, Forest Range Officer Mr. Randhir Singh and General Manager Mining visited the village Sahowal to enquire about this illegal practice. DSP Ajnala said that they have book four persons including Bachan Singh S/o Ganga Singh, Puran Singh S/o Fauja Singh, Kulwant Singh S/o Aatma Singh and Harbans Singh S/o Shinda Singh under section 379 and Mining Act. He said that the raids were on to arrest them and they will be nabbed soon.
