Amritsar Sahodaya Schools Celebrates Teachers’ Day

(Punjab Post Bureau)- To commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Saravapalli Radhakrishnan and to recognize and acknowledge the valuable contributions of the teachers, the school celebrated ‘Teachers’ Day’ with zeal and fervour. Chief Guest Dr. Ajaib Singh Brar, Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University and the Guest of Honour S. Charanjit Singh Chadha, President Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society were given a warm welcome by the school band. The program began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp by the Chief Guest. Invoking the blessings of the Almighty, the cultural bonanza began with the School Shabad. An exuberant ‘Welcome Dance’ was presented by the girls of +1 and +2, followed by the welcome speech by S. Charanjit Singh Chadha. As the school leaves no stone unturned when it comes to entertainment , an additive feature to the programm was a punjabi play ‘Phulan Nu Kitaban Wich Na Rakho’ was very educative. 6 teachers from the host school were honoured for their dedicated and meritorious services and completing 18 years of their career. 90 teachers and 5 Principals of Sahodaya Schools were honoured on the occasion for their outstanding achievements in the field of education. Chief Guest S. Ajaib Singh Brar addressed the teachers and motivated them to work hard with honesty and dedication and also become role models for the students. Heer said it is a very important day for the students also since it is on this day they get to express their heartfelt gratitude towards those mighty souls who do their utomost each moment, sharpening their wits and bringing out the best in them. He further said that the  teachers can work more efficiently if the education system is reformed and more stress is given to practical and experimental knowledge. Dr. Ajaib Singh Brar was awarded for his prestigious and outstanding contributions in the field of education. The girls of +1 and 2 set the stage on fire with their foot tapping punjabi folk dance “Luddi’ which was the most awaited item of the program and was enjoyed by one and all. The audience was left mesmerized by ‘Sufi Gayan’ presented by the students of the senior secondary section. Manager School S. Harminder Singh his vote of thanks acknowledge the valuable services offered by the teachers and principals and urged them to remain committed towards their duties. D.E.O. S. Satinderbir Singh and Mrs. Vinodita Sankhian Principal Ram Ashram School were also honored on the occasion for their valuable services and achievements. Other Dignitories who graced the occasion were present Resident President S. Nirmal Singh, Vice President S. Dhanraj Singh, S. Priptal Singh Sethi, S. Sawinder Singh Kathunangal, S. Santokh Singh Sethi, Dr. Baljinder Singh, Dr. H. S. Sandhu, Principals and teachers of different schools. The program culminated with the National Anthem.
