National Lok Adalat regarding Criminal Compoundable Matters held

Amritsar, Sept. 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  In accordance with the instructions of National Legal Services Authority a National Lok Adalat is being held today (Second Saturday) for the cases of Criminal compoundable Matters. Under the active guidance of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Tirath Singh Thakur, Judge, Supreme Court of India-cum-Executive Chairman, National Legal Services Authority and Hon’ble Mr.Justice S.S Saron, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court-cum-Executive Chairman, Punjab Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh, a National Lok Adalat has been organized at District Headquarter Amritsar on 12.09.2015. In total 2 benches was constituted which was presided over by Sh. Surinder Singh Sahni, Addl. District & Sessions Judge, Amritsar and Sh. Gagandeep Singh Garg, Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Amritsar for holding this National Lok Adalat at Amritsar. The cases pertaining to the Criminal Compoundable Matters were taken up for settlement in this National Lok Adalat with the mutual consent of the parties. A total number of 97cases were taken up for decision in this National Lok Adalat by way of amicable settlement, out of which 64 were disposed of.
