Orientation Programme for Teachers of  Std XI & XII held at DAV Public School

Amritsar, Sept. 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) -Under the aegis of DAV CAE Regional Training Centre (Amritsar, Zone ) under DAV Centre of Academic Excellence, DAV, CMC New Delhi and CBSE’s directive, a two day Orientation  Programe for Teachers  was organised at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road from 18 to 19. The Orientation Cum Interactive Meet was held  for Nine  subjects i.e. English , Accounts , Business St udies , Biology, Fine Arts , Information Practices, History, Music (V) and Physical Education  for Std XI and XII with the aim to bring a qualitative improvement in the teaching – learning process with the objective of enhancing learner achievement.

As many as teachers from GND DAV Public School, Bhikhiwind , MKD DAV Public School, Attari, DAV International School, Police DAV School and  DAV Public School participated in the workshop according to their subject. Regional Director (Amritsar Zone ) Dr.(Mrs.)Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar inaugurated the workshops and said that she was happy to see eager teachers as a teacher must always grow and upgrade himself to deal with changing trends in education.

Ms.Neetu Gupta from Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar and Ms.Kanchan from  Police DAV Public School, Amritsar were the resource persons for Accounts,  Ms. Chander mohini from Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar was the resource person for Business Studies, Mrs.Meenakshi Kalra was the resource person from Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar for the subject of Biology, Mrs. Poonam Sharma from DAV Public School, Amritsar and Mrs. Kirti from Police DAV Public  School, Amritsar were the resource persons for English, Mr.Rishi and Mr. Mukesh from Police DAV Public School, Amritsar were the resource persons for Information Practices and History respectively. Ms.Priyanka Sharma from DAV Public School, Amritsar was the resource person for Fine Arts, Mr.Narinder Kumar and Mr.Rajwant Singh from DAV Public School, Amritsar were the resource persons for Music (V) and Physical Education respectively.  During the workshop the detailed syllabus for  (SA II) along with its length and content was discussed. The resource persons emphasised on the importance of adopting different techniques for motivating and helping students to comprehend their content and reproduce it in a creative and correct form in the exam to score well. The resource persons touched the difficult learning areas in their subject and shared their expert and innovative methodology adopted by them over the years to make the difficult areas interesting and easy to comprehend.

The workshops  for all the subjects were a success as many new ideas and innovative ways to enhance teaching and learning process were developed.

Regional Director (Amritsar Zone ) Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar  motivated the teachers through a chapter from Sh. Vivekananda’s life. She  applauded the efforts of the school for organising the workshop.   She added that such workshops are very important in keeping the teachers abreast with the latest trends in education. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school, thanked the resource persons and all the participants for being a part of the workshop. She said, “Learning is a continuous process and as teachers we need to upgrade ourselves regularly”.
