Joshi Unfurls state’s highest 170 feet high Tricolour on Birth Anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh

Amritsar, Sept. 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – To mark the eve of 108th birth anniversary of the legendary revolutionary, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Punjab Local Bodies Minister Mr. Anil Joshi today unfurled state’s highest National Flag here in Atam Anand Park at the height of 170 feet.

Recalling the fight fought by great Indian martyrs for liberation, Mr. Joshi said that we have been enjoying the fruit independence just because of peerless sacrifices made by our great martyrs.  He said that the courage, tenacity of purpose and sacrifices made by our great martyrs would continue to inspire generations to come.

While hoisting Tricolour, Mr. Joshi, accompanied by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, said that it was a proud moment for all of us since it was the highest flag so far in the state. Mr. Joshi said that Amritsar was a world renowned city due to its historic, religious, heritage and tourism significance and this Tiranga hoisting at a height of 170 feet will become a center of attraction for the residents of Amritsar and tourists too.

Mr. Joshi said that this flag could be seen from a distance of 16 kilometer in clear weather. He said that it has dimension of 40 feet by 60 feet.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion Mayor Mr. Bakshi Ram Arora, Mr. Pardeep Sabharwal, Commissioner Municipal Corporaation, Mr. Sandeep Rishi, Chairman Improvement Trust, former Mayor Shwait Malik etc.
