Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan celebrated in BBK DAV College for Women

Amritsar, Oct. 5 (Punjab Post Burea) –  The NSS Unit of BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar celebrated 2^nd October, 2015 the birth anniversary of our father of nation Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bhadur Shastri with great zeal. The volunteers organized ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in the College and cleaned the entire college. The objective of this drive was to make India a better place to live in. college has made a green brigade and for this purpose a part of Lawrence Road, is adopted for regular cleanliness. The volunteers distributed the pamphlets to the shopkeepers to make them aware of the importance of cleanliness in and around their shops. Holding of marches and monitoring this area is a customary feature of the college. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra motivated the volunteers for their efforts and also congratulated the programme officer Mrs. Surbhi Sethi for NSS Unit’s commendable efforts. Mrs. Surbhi Sethi NSS Coordinator of  College educated the volunteers about the need of sustainable development. Mrs. Renu Bhandari, Mr. Rajdeep Mehra, Ms. Neha Sehgal, Dr. (Ms.) Shefali Sharma, Ms. Priyanka Chug & Mr. Deepak Khullar were also present on this occasion.
