Seminar on ‘Network Security’ at BBK DAV College for Women

Amritsar, Oct. 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  PG Department of Computer Science and Applications of  BBK DAV College for Women organized a Seminar on ‘Network Security’ by Dr. Rajiv Mahajan, Professor and Director, Golden College of Engineering & Technology, Gurdaspur.

Ms. Kiran Gupta, Head of  Department welcomed the expert and gave a brief introduction regarding the topic. Dr. Rajan  Mahajan  spoke on networks, network security issues and network attacks. He also discussed various threats like buffer overflow, intrusion, minor detour, dictionary attacks using brute force, denial service attacks and distributed denial service attacks. At the end of presentation, there was an interaction session between students and experts. The seminar was attended by the students of BCA, B.Sc. IT and M.Sc. (Computer Science). Principal Dr. (Mrs.)  Neelam Kamra congratulated the students and staff for organizing the seminar. Mrs. Rajni Mehra, Mr. Manoj Puri, Mr. Anurag, Mr. Kanwarpal Singh, Mr. Amit and other staff members thanked the expert for delivering such an informative and interesting lecture.
