
Amritsar, Nov. 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab National Bank organised an Essay Writing Competition at DAV Public School , Lawrence Road on the occasion of the Vigilance Awareness Week . 35 students from DAV Public School and 25 students from BBK DAV collage for Women enthusiastically participated in the competition. Circle Head, Shri Surjit Singh , Deputy DGM , PNB was the honourable Chief Guest of the day. Mr.Naresh Anand, Mr.Rupinder and Regional Director Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Amritsar graced the occasion with their presence.
The topic of the competition was ‘Moral Values , Ethics , Good Governance Practices .’ The aim of the competition was to raise awareness among the young students about the value of ethical living and how it can effect the progress of the nation . Amidst the degrading atmosphere in the country , it was a welcome step taken by PNB to spread knowledge about good governance and role of a citizen in it. The Chief Guest Shri Surjit Singh , appreciated the efforts of the school for organising the competition. He said that we all need to work together and join hands to make the nation a ‘Shining India’in the true sense. He added that this could only be possible if we imbibe values of honesty and check corruption of any kind around us. He gave away the prizes to the winners.The first prize of Rs 1000 each was bagged by Harmandeep Kaur & Kriti Mehra of BBK DAV Collage & DAV Public School respectively. The second prize of 500 each was bagged by Muskan Bhatia & Manthan Takiar Of BBK DAV Collage & DAV Public School respectively. The third prize of Rs 300 each was bagged by Amrit Kaur and Rajjat Kakkar of BBK DAV Collage & DAV Public School respectively . Regional Director Dr.(Mrs) Neelam Kamra , Principal of BBK DAV Collage congratulated the winners on this occasion and said that education is one key that can open the door of new avenues. But with new opportunities , according to her were attached new responsibilities which must be tackled with honesty and integrity.
Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school, thanked the guests and said that corruption plays a negative role in the growth of the country, so it was imperative to spread the message of good governance and vigilant attitude.
