Amritsar, Nov. 25 (Punjab Post Bureau)- DAV Public School, Lawrence Road held its Annual Prize Distribution Function on 20th November at Urvi Auditorium to boost the young aspirants who had distinguished themselves in academic field .Honourable Arya Ratan Sh.Punam Suri, President DAV CMC, was the Chief Guest. Among the other dignitaries were Director PS–I and Aided Schools Sh. J.P Shoor, Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College, Manager LMC, members of LMC and Principals of various DAV Schools, Advocate Sudarshan Kapoor, Sh. S.K Sharma, Director Publications, DAV CMC, New Delhi, Sh. Satyapal Arya, Secretary DAV CMC, Sh. J.K Luthra , Sh. Rakesh Mehra & eminent Arya Samaji’s. The function began with floral welcome , lighting of the lamp and DAV Anthem. Director PS -I and aided schools Sh. J.P Shoor formally welcomed the Chief guest. He laid emphasis on the importance of moral values, planning and time management in student’s life. The Chief Guest awarded the prizes and showered his blessings on the children. He asserted that the natural instincts of the children should not be suppressed, infact they should learn to fight for their survival and outshine in one or the other field. He laid stress on the importance of moral values that when followed help in smooth conduct, well being and prosperity of a society. He conveyed his heartiest felicitations to the parents of the prize winners. In all 275 students were awarded for their outstanding performance in the field of academics. Cash prizes worth Rs .32,700 too were awarded to the students for setting benchmarks in the board and competitive exams. Principal Dr. Neera Sharma presented the school report emphasising the all round development of the child by balancing in – class and out – class life. Raising their voice and expressing their concern against the prevailing social evils, students of the school held a Nukkad Natak, Parivartan, which vividly brought to life some core issues faced by the society and urged on the need to work together to eliminate them from society.
