
Amritsar, Nov. 30 (Punjab Post Bureau)-Highlighting the dedication of leaders and commemorating the importance of thesignificant event in the History of India, students of Delhi Public School, presented a ‘Mock Assembly’ on the theme “The Constitution Day”. Themaking of the Indian Constitution was a step to direct the new Nation towards the principles of democracy. Indian Constitution was one of the toughest to make. After nearly2-years, 11-months and 17-days of in-depth discussions, debates, our constitution makers could finally make India’s Constitution that stood on the pillars of liberty, Equality and Fraternity as a Sovereign Democratic Republic considered one of the best constitutions, recognized on 26th November 1949. It highlighted each and every aspect of the diverse Indian society and the changing times, keeping in view times to come. The date of 26th November is known as the ‘Constitution day’. Even Prime Minister Narender Modi congratulated the nation on Twitter- a social networking site, on this important day that is often forgotten by public and leaders alike. The ‘mock assembly’ commenced with introductory message by the Principal MrsSangeeta Singh. The preamble of the constitution which marks the starting of the Constitution was read by students. The constitutional scripture comprising of enlightening thought was read out by the moderators. An exciting enactment was performed by the students that not only sensitizedthe audience about the making of the Indian Constitution but also moved each one of them to understand how they must behave in the society and what were their rights and duties enshrined in the constitution of this great nation . Putting themselves into the shoes of various characters students played out the roles of JawaharLal Nehru first PM of India, Sardar Vallabhai Patel Deputy PM and Home Minister, Dr B. R Ambedkar Minister of Law and father of the Indian constitution, Maulana Azad Minister for education, Rajendra Prasad who later became the first President of India, Sarat Chander Bose, Governor General and others. The audience was enlightened of every moment of the making of the Indian constitution.
